If you haven’t heard, CDL holders must provide proof of medical certification to the Motor Vehicle Administration by January 30,2014.
When do truck drivers need to submit the medical certifications?
Truck drivers do not need to submit medical certifications prior to January 30,2014 unless directly contacted by the MVA.
The MVA will contact truck drivers prior to January 30,2014 for the following reasons:
– Medical certification renewal
– Request for a medical certification duplicate
– Medical certification corrections
– New CDL
The new medical cards are two-sided from the MMTA. These medical certification cards from the MMTA are compliant with federal regulations but the MVA has no requirements for usage of the new medical card so far.
